Sports can teach values such as fairness, teambuilding, equality, discipline, inclusion, perseverance and respect and facilitate the building of strong bonds that translate to the workplace well. I therefore applaud the CII team for coming up with an outstanding initiative like the ICCL at a national level which I hope will continue for years to come.

On behalf of CII, I'm extremely delighted that we are now the lead partner of the Sports Ministry in furthering the Prime Minister's 'Fit India' movement.

The importance of being outdoors and playing Sports for Corporate executives is very underrated. Playing sport, interacting with others, and being part of a team enables people to develop numerous essential skills. These skills are essential skills that are important throughout our lives such as leadership, confidence, accountability, discipline, perseverance, and respect and team – building and are also imperative among the modern-day workforces. I therefore congratulate the CII team for organizing Grassroots sports events such as the Indian Corporate Cricket League for the corporate organizations across India.

I appreciate CII Sports for managing the event and hoping that this becomes a more frequent occurrence stressing the importance of dialogue in the sports sector.
